Ground Beef Recipe Tip -
Red Meat
The reason meat appears red on the outside is the reaction of fresh meat with oxygen. The meat may appear dull grey or brown on the inside due to a lack of oxygen. Meat will lose this bright red appearance as it ages. Meat that appears brown or grey on the outside should not be purchased.

Ground Beef Recipe Tip -
Grass-Finished Beef
Grass-finished cattle have never been fed grain. They have been eaten grass or forage throughout their lives. Grass-finished beef has a different taste than beef from cattle having been grain fed.
