Tangy Mini Meat Loaves

Simple min meat loaves prepared from ground beef, sliced red onion, dark corn syrup, steak sauce, and spicy brown mustard.

Ingredients -

1/2 pound Ground Beef
1/2 cup Sliced Red Onion
1/4 cup Dark Corn Syrup
3 tablespoons Steak Sauce
2 teaspoons Spicy Brown Mustard

 
Preparation:

1. Shape the beef into four small loaves, 1/4 to 1/2 in. thick.

2. Cook the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are no longer pink.

3. Remove them to a serving plate and keep them warm.

4. Drain all but 1 tablespoon of the drippings and sauté the onion in the drippings until the are tender.

5. Add the corn syrup, steak sauce and mustard and bring to a boil.

6. Pour over the meat loaves.

7. Serve immediately.

Thawing in the Microwave
Ground beef can be thawed in the microwave properly by using the defrost setting. A pound of unwrapped ground beef should take about 5 minutes on this setting to thaw.

Steak Sauce
Use your favorite steak sauce in this recipe. Many steak sauces contain molasses and other tangy ingredients. Dark corn syrup adds some tang, as does the spicy brown mustard.
